BOOK: Healthy Aging®...Inspirational Letters from Americans

This unique 8.5" x 11" hardcover book is a collection of 240 short, heartening letters written by Americans over 50. The letters were chosen from thousands entered in a national contest, which challenged Americans 50+ to write the "letter of a lifetime" about the positive aspects of growing older.

Written by ordinary men and women from all walks of life, the letters offer a fascinating mosaic of today's views on aging, told by people who have deeply reflected on what Healthy Aging® really means to them. Read candid, original letters from undeniably inspirational seniors such as an 87-year-old roller-blader, a 92-year-old owner/operator of a Bed & Breakfast, and a 79-year-old scholar who received her college degree at age 70. If Healthy Aging® is part of your plans, read this remarkable book. Personal introductions by Jane Brody, Dr. Robert Butler, Dr. James Birren, Art Linkletter, and Dr. Ida Davidoff.

Happiness - the Road to Well-Being

Happiness: The Road To Well-Being

Happiness: The Road To Well-Being
Author: Donald L. Kjelleren

About the Book

Think of everything you can that fulfills your life's dreams, ambitions and desires. Chances are they will fit into one of three categories: happiness, longevity, and independence. Attaining these depends on one factor, your health.

People say over and over that they will give up almost anything to have good health, yet we observe fewer and fewer Americans are taking responsibility for their health and well-being.  This is resulting in the beginning of a serious healthcare crisis that will almost certainly in the forseeable future lead to the demise of the U.S. healthcare system.

Does this vision of the future concern you? This book discusses six major barriers to our current and future health and well-being.  It was written to sound the alarm, to bring awareness to what we will be facing, and how and why this is just the start of our healthcare problems.

Just how important is happiness, longevity, and independence to you and your family? Are you willing to make changes in your lifestyle to get on the road to Healthy Aging®, a quality lifestyle and well-being?  This book was not written to scare you to death, but to provide you with the reasons why Americans must undertake the lifestyle changes needed to gain and maintain good health.  This book tells you how. It provides a wealth of information that will enable you to use the book as a manual and guide for attaining happiness and all that goes with it.

When reading this book you will note the focus is not just on the elderly, but recommends an agressive effort for addressing the health of our youth and young adults.  These are the persons who are going to be faced with the greatest healthcare problems. We are all going to pay dearly, but the younger generations will be stuck with the most serious health and economic crisis.

The bottom line to this book is we must make huge strides in reducing the demand on the nation's healthcare system. It can be done, but each of us has to do our part starting now!

Even if you have only minimal interest in your health and well-being you will find this contemporary, comprehensive, practical, and interesting book a must read.
