Microwave until capers are darkened in color and have shrunk, 3 to 5 minutes, stirring halfway through microwaving. Using slotted spoon, transfer capers to paper towel\u2013lined plate (they will continue to crisp as they cool); set aside. Reserve caper oil for another use.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, bring 4 quarts water to boil in large pot. Add pasta and 1 tablespoon salt and cook, stirring often, until al dente. Reserve \u00bd cup cooking water, then drain pasta and return it to pot. Stir in cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche, lemon zest and juice, and caraway seeds and toss to combine. Adjust consistency with reserved cooking water as needed. Gently stir in smoked salmon.
