It’s filled with optimism, creativity, and inspiring stories about following your passion at every stage of life. If there’s one message that threads its way through these pages, it’s that aging well isn’t about slowing down—it’s about leaning into what energizes you.

Our cover feature does just that. It spotlights beauty industry icon Bobbi Brown, founder of her namesake cosmetics brand and the force behind Jones Road Beauty. I love, love her new memoir, Bobbi Brown: Still Bobbi —not just because of her extraordinary career, but because it speaks so honestly to anyone who has ever balanced family life with an all-consuming passion (like I do!).

As Bobbi writes, “Most people would have taken a year off, gone to Paris, learned to play tennis. I gave it some thought, but none of that interested me … My mind loves creative work. In fact, it’s not even work. It’s a passion.”

That mindset resonates deeply with me—and I suspect it will with you, too. Her tenacity in navigating corporate challenges while staying true to herself and her products is admirable. And she didn’t stop after building one iconic company. With Jones Road thriving, she’s launched a YouTube interview series, I AM Me, focused on beauty, aging, and authenticity through conversations with successful women. Reinvention, curiosity, and purpose—this is what healthy aging looks like.

What also brought a smile to my face were the life moments Bobbi shares that felt wonderfully familiar: meeting the love of her life, getting engaged after three months and married six months later (me too!); living in Greenwich Village before deciding it was time to leave New York City for a better place to raise children (me too!); and building a business rooted in passion rather than convention.

And one more moment truly resonated. Bobbi recounts how she often brought her family with her on work trips. Just two weeks after her first baby was born, she served as lead makeup artist for Adrienne Vittadini’s fashion show—the designer holding the baby while Bobbi applied makeup to the models.

For me, it was a television news shoot on barbecue basics at Martha Stewart’s house. My baby was just a few weeks old as well. As the producer, I felt very much that “the show must go on,” so rather than cancel, I went—with my mother in tow. Martha’s response? “You’re bringing THAT?” She didn’t hold him.

Her story is deeply personal—and incredibly encouraging. It’s a terrific read, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Food, Glorious Food

Food lovers will be delighted by the cookbooks we’re featuring in this issue. Big Bites…Time to Eat by Kat Ashmore is one of those books that instantly earns a permanent spot in the kitchen. Just when you think you’ve seen every creative dinner idea imaginable, Kat delivers fresh inspiration that actually works for real life. You know I truly love a recipe when I’ve made it more than once for my family—Proposal Pork Chops with its outrageous sauce and the Roasted Winter Vegetable Salad with Grapes are already repeat favorites in my house.

We also review Phil’s Favorites by Phil Rosenthal, creator and host of Somebody Feed Phil and Everybody Loves Raymond. It’s fun, joyful, and full of personality—just like Phil. His La Casa del Abuelo’s Gambas al Ajillo (garlic shrimp) is another “keeper” that proves comfort food can be simple, social, and deeply satisfying.

With the launch of updated dietary guidelines and growing awareness about what’s really in the food we buy and eat, we also highlight two books that make healthy eating feel realistic rather than restrictive: So Easy So Good by Kylie Sakaida, RD, and The 30-Day Inflammatory Reset by Dr. Josh Redd. Both offer practical, approachable guidance that meets you where you are—no extremes required.

Have Passport, Will Travel

This issue also invites you to look at travel through a different lens with our feature on birding in Extremadura, Spain. Even for readers who don’t consider themselves birders, this story is really about learning how to see—slowing down enough to notice the rhythms of nature, the quiet drama of migration, and the landscapes that support it all.

Extremadura is a place where history, conservation, and daily life intersect, offering a kind of travel experience that rewards patience and curiosity rather than packed itineraries. It’s a reminder that some of the most meaningful adventures come not from checking off destinations, but from engaging deeply with a place—and discovering new interests along the way.

What’s Your Next Passion?

You’ll also find stories in this issue that speak to curiosity, community, and navigating change with confidence—from travel and lifestyle inspiration to thoughtful looks at how technology is quietly reshaping everyday experiences. And with spring truly just around the corner, wedding planning may be on the horizon for some of you. We share clever ways AI can help simplify the process—so you can be supportive, informed, and maybe even impress your kids along the way. (You’ll sound very smart.)

As always, thank you for being part of the Healthy Aging® community. I hope this issue inspires you to keep exploring, creating, and saying yes to what lights you up.

I’d love to hear your own “next passage” story.
