This is not a religious question but it is one many of us ask ourselves from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>Have I chosen the right career? Am I doing the best I can for my family and friends? Am I really happy with my current situation?<\/p>\n<p>Finding your purpose in life and continuing to grow and change are recurring themes in the Healthy Aging\u00ae publishing platform.<\/p>\n<p>Through conducing hundreds of interviews, we have found people who knew very early on what their role was in life. They set their goals and followed their own paths, never detouring, keeping their eyes on their true purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Like John Force. A 16-time Funny Car champion race car driver, John knew he had oil in his veins from a young age and continues to tear up the tracks even today at age 66.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Anka\u2014singer, songwriter and actor\u2014started his career as a child, singing in the church choir and taking piano lessons. By the time he was 13, he formed his own group, the Bobbysoxers. Today at 74, he continues to have a full U.S. performance tour throughout the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Easy for them, you say, to have a goal. They started early in life.<\/p>\n<p>But what about us late bloomers?<\/p>\n<p>For most people, their purpose in life evolves through experiences and choices. Take Andre Bocelli, 58, acclaimed tenor, who did find his music passion as a child. Sadly, he became blind when he was 12 from a soccer injury. Not held back by his inability to see, he ultimately studied law at University of Pisa. He continued to follow his love for music by singing in bars to support his education. It was only when he was 34 years old that Luciano Pavarotti heard his demo, effectively launching his singing career.<\/p>\n<p>In 1982, Tim and Nina Zagat were both attorneys living in New York at the age of 42. What started as a hobby of sharing restaurant reviews became a new business. The first year, they sold 7,500 copies and two years later, 40,000. They made enough to quit their day jobs and ultimately turn their hobby into an internationally-known company, which was ultimately acquired by Google for $151 million.<\/p>\n<p>Hoda Kotb, well-known talk show host for NBC TODAY show, \u201cfourth hour,\u201d was lucky to find her purpose in life early. She knew she wanted a career in journalism early on and has fulfilled her goals all along the way.
