Spring\/Summer 2017 Style Trends<\/h4>\n

A<\/span>fter an unseasonably warm winter, it’s apt that the spring-summer 2017 fashion season is all about subverting expectations. Some of the style highlights this year include a bold color palette, unexpected patterns, throwbacks to retro designs from multiple eras, and experimental silhouettes. Below is a list of some of our favorite style trends for spring-summer 2017.<\/p>\n

Super Brights<\/h4>\n

When you think of spring, you typically imagine a color palette full of various pretty pastels. The same cannot be said of the popular colors for spring-summer 2017.<\/p>\n

Designers have experimented within the realm of super brights this season, including Pink Yarrow, Primrose Yellow, Flame, and Lapis Blue.\n[awesome-gallery id=5917]

The latter three hues, paired with the next trend, are very reminiscent of De Stijl abstract art. This throwback is paired with modern styles for a retro\u2014but still fresh\u2014look that will serve to wake you and onlookers right up.<\/p>\n

Striking Stripes<\/h4>\n

Florals usually reign supreme in the springtime but this year, stripes are everywhere. We’re not just talking nautical-esque horizontal stripes, either.<\/p>\n

Vertical, diagonal, horizontal, grid-style, thin, and thick stripes are all showing up in designer’s pieces of every kind for spring and summer.<\/p>\n

Whether in color or monochromatic, this trend has so many options to choose from that many looks incorporate more than one (or more!) stripe styles\u2014even sometimes on a single piece!<\/p>\n

Rococo Jacquard Florals<\/h4>\n

Florals have not been completely abandoned this year in favor of stripes. However, the dainty buds typically seen in the springtime have gone by the wayside in favor of big, Rococo Jacquard-style florals.<\/p>\n

You might remember these patterns that were also popular during the kitschy ’70s, an era and style seeing a major comeback in the fashion world today in high-fashion houses like Gucci and Versace. The Jacquard florals have shown up in a variety of forms like dresses, shirts, skirts, pants, and even rain jackets!<\/p>\n

Statement Sleeves<\/h4>\n

This season, sleeves have been used in a number of different ways that have frequently made them the focal point of a piece.<\/p>\n

Assorted Asymmetry<\/h4>\n

Another way that designers are playing with silhouettes is through different forms of asymmetry.<\/p>\n

This ’80s style has shown up in asymmetrical dresses, skirts, shirts, and sleeves. Not only is the Flash Dance sleeve totally back but so is the one-sleeve look.<\/p>\n

Asymmetric dresses and skirts serve to continue playing with lines while asymmetric shirts give off a more slouchy, casual vibe.<\/p>\n

Whatever your personal style, this spring-summer fashion season has so many different and unexpected trends to choose from. It truly is the perfect time to shake up your wardrobe and experiment.
