The retro look of the 70s is in. There\u2019s a new flair, of course, to make the look shout \u201ctoday!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The styles are refreshed and modernized, but you will be familiar with them. From platforms and stack heel boots, to large geometric patterns and A-line silhouettes, you will remember this bold, yet feminine, style and might be happy to have it back again. PHOTOS: NORDSTROM<\/p><\/p>\n<h4>How to wear this style:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Spruce up office wear with culottes paired with a bow blouse or satin top and a structured leather saddle bag.<\/li>\n<li>Pair separates that mix masculine structure with feminine fabrics for a modernized, grown-up look.<\/li>\n<li>Go casual chic meets western with a pair of high-waisted trousers or flare denim topped with a suede jacket or soft turtleneck, and a floppy hat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Texture: The Common Denominator<\/h4>\n<p>Suede, fringe, faux fur, leather, knits, tweed, lace, silk and denim\u2013all can be mixed and matched. PHOTOS: NORDSTROM<\/p><\/p>\n<h4>How to work texture into your wardrobe:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Echo the 70s through new leather colorations, suede details and patchwork on clothes, accessories and shoes.<\/li>\n<li>Let your sensual side show by juxtaposing menswear-inspired items with soft feminine silks and laces in tops, skirts and dresses revealing a little bare skin, paired with a power pump.<\/li>\n<li>Layer textures to customize your look, like pairing ribbed or sheer patterned tights with a leg warmer or ankle sock, is a subtle way to changeup your go-to dress, or incorporating prints like macro plaids for a refined but cozy style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Colors of the Season<\/h4>\n<p>Jump right into fall with deep hues of grey, green, merlot, warm browns and rust colors. Mix and match or wear variations of the same color head-to-toe. \u201cThis season we\u2019re going deeper, richer and more romantic,\u201d Godfrey said. \u201cGreen is our incoming color, while we\u2019ll still see that gorgeous oxblood, burgundy and merlot continue, we\u2019re wearing it differently.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Coat Check<\/h4>\n<p>Nothing says autumn quite like your beloved trench, parka, or favorite coat and this season, we\u2019re all about that last layer. Your coat is more than a utility\u2013it\u2019s the final piece to your head-turning look no matter where you live. \u201cRight now we\u2019re having a fashion moment in outerwear; people are investing in their wardrobe of coats that are relevant both for style and climate,\u201d Godfrey said.<\/p>\n<h4>How to make a coat statement:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Dress up your daytime attire with a wrap coat or classic trench.<\/li>\n<li>Hitting the town? The 70s boot is definitely trending. And, if you can still get away wearing high heels, the power pump is for you. The heels can be found stacked, spiked and everywhere in between.
