We Asked … You Answered …

Healthy Aging SurveyHow Your Feedback is Shaping Healthy Aging® Content

At Healthy Aging®, our mission has always been clear: to inspire active adults 45+ to lead vibrant, fulfilling lives. Whether it’s embracing a second act, pursuing new passions, or maintaining well-being in every form—physical, mental, social, and financial—we’re here to be your companion on that journey.

And now, thanks to the incredible feedback from our recent reader survey, we’re shaping our content to better align with what you want. One lucky participant won a $25 Amazon Gift Card in a random drawing—congratulations to our winner, and thank you to everyone who participated!

Your Voice Is Our Roadmap

In February, we launched a short reader survey to better understand what content resonates most with you, our engaged and growing Healthy Aging® community. We were impressed with how many of you took the time to share your interests, preferences, and what you’re seeking as you navigate the evolving landscape of midlife and beyond.

The goal? To tailor our articles, resources, and features even more closely to your needs.

Here’s a look at what we learned—and how we’re acting on it.

Top Interests: Health, Travel, and Lifelong Learning

When we asked what topics you’re most interested in reading about, the results were striking:

  • Health and Wellness topped the list, with nearly 90% of respondents selecting this as their primary area of interest. This includes everything from fitness and exercise routines to nutrition tips and mental well-being strategies.
  • Travel was a close second. Many of you are looking for ideas for adventure—whether it’s a weekend getaway, international travel inspiration, or niche experiences like culinary or cycling tours.
  • Lifelong Learning and New Hobbies also stood out, revealing a deep curiosity and desire to keep growing, learning, and challenging yourselves at every stage.

We hear you—and we’re planning a robust editorial calendar to reflect these interests. Expect to see more stories on:

  • Age-friendly fitness routines
  • Adventure travel for active adults
  • Volunteer opportunities and second-career inspiration
  • Learning opportunities in arts, tech, and more

Reinvention Over Retirement

One of the themes that continues to resonate with our readers is reinvention. You made it clear: this stage of life is not about slowing down—it’s about pivoting, exploring new passions, and rewriting the script of what “getting older” looks like.

In your survey responses, phrases like “starting a new chapter,” “exploring creativity,” and “giving back to the community” came up again and again. In response, we’re expanding our editorial focus on stories of people who’ve changed careers, discovered new hobbies post-retirement, or started businesses a little later in life.

Check out our upcoming Spring/Summer issue of Healthy Aging® Magazine to see our new series of articles on “how I reinvented myself after 50.”

Community and Connection Matter

Many of you shared how important it is to feel connected—to friends, family, and your wider community. Whether through volunteering, book clubs, or fitness groups, connection was cited as key to a healthy lifestyle.

This insight is shaping how we approach not just our content but our platform. In the coming months, we’ll be introducing more opportunities for reader engagement, including:

  • Interactive content (quizzes, polls, challenges)
  • Reader spotlight features
  • Community contributions: share your stories, photos, and advice with the Healthy Aging® audience

We’ll also explore how social ties impact overall well-being, with articles on making new friends later in life, staying socially active, and leveraging technology to bridge distances.

Financial Fitness: A Growing Priority

Your responses also highlighted a growing interest in financial wellness. From retirement planning to managing healthcare costs and exploring second careers, financial confidence is clearly a pillar of well-being for our audience.

As a result, we’ll be increasing our coverage on:

  • Budget-friendly travel ideas
  • Planning for long-term care
  • Managing retirement income and investments
  • Creative earning options in midlife and beyond

You Want Inspiration, Not Intimidation

Perhaps most importantly, the tone of our content matters to you. Our readers are looking for uplifting, solution-focused information—not fear-based messaging or negativity around aging.

This is music to our ears, as it aligns with the Healthy Aging® philosophy: aging is not a problem to be solved, but an adventure to be lived.

You can continue to count on us to deliver content that is:

  • Empowering
  • Encouraging
  • Practical and positive
